My New Favorite Books

I'm a reader, I learn by reading, I love reading!!!

When I decided to learn all the things at once, I started buying books like I just discovered them. I watched a few videos by Ali Abdal (love his YouTube videos!!) and bought a lot of the books he recommended. He is on point with his recommendations and I've loved every book he's recommended so far!

Below are some of the books I've read so far and why I love them!

Make Time by Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky is a game-changer if you are trying to find a better way to focus. It lists many different tactics throughout the book and encourages you to mix and match them until you find the combination that works for you.

It also encourages you to pick a Highlight for your day and schedule time in your calendar to do it. During that time, you laser focus for 60-90 minutes on that one task and if you get nothing else done that day, you at least accomplished that!

Steal Like an Artist and Show Your Work by Austin Kleon are two more great books that can inspire you to get moving on what you want to create! He gives you the inspiration to go create, create, create, no matter if it sucks at first. Just create! This book solidified my resolve to start my social media presence NOW and work on everything else as it comes to me.

Online Marketing for Busy Authors by Fauzia Burke offers excellent advice on starting your platform and promoting your book to your ideal audience. It has questions at the end of the chapters to make you stop and think everything through. This was what I needed when I decided to build my platform.
